2025: Scent & material studies
2025: Exploring the relationship between scent & material
A note from the studio:
As we enter our fifth year, a new season of rediscovery and work unfolds for us. We wrapped up the last year, coming into this one with a simple but important reminder in mind: to take time, is to take care. Our hope for this season is to continue sharing the good work we do with you, to soak in moments of nature's healing beauty—and to take time, and care, in all that we set out to do.

How does smell shape our perception of the world around us?
We've spent some quiet months in our studio working towards a new piece of work that we look forward to share. This year also marks our foray into a new research, deep diving into the study of materiality, starting off with terracotta as our focus. There is something quite romantic about the terracotta clay; in all its odd shapes, uneven textures—the way it feels when touched, shades of burnt, sandy reds and oranges.
The work of adding another layer: scent, to this beautiful material is the moment where we fell in love.
Our first work from this research will be presented at an upcoming exhibition at Appetite. At the heart of this work, is a new scent created in response to Appetite's space, and approach towards the appreciation of ingredients. We hope you will come by to experience it in person.
